Monogamy is our ongoing, single hop series of India pale ales -- a delicious and interesting (controlled) experiment designed to give us all a better understanding of what a hop can do when it flies solo. We keep our base recipe and brewing processes the same, but switch up the hop variable each time. A particularly troublesome beer for those who feel they....Must. Collect. Them. All.
Throughout the years we've brewed and rebrewed this recipe with over 20 different hops, and in 2017 we expanded the series to include double dry-hopped versions (for that nth degree of hop aromatics).
What is smells like, what it tastes like: Whole orchard aromas of plum, mango, pear, apricot, and subtle citrus, with hints of wild honey.

Opaque. Medium head but it dies pretty quickly. Bright peachy, lychee, type of hop nose -to me this is a standout rakau expression. I don'�t remember a beer that does that hop better. Cantaloupe -I am wishing I had this on Sunday morning not Saturday afternoon. It'�s still a hazy, so a bit muddled on the palate. The hop is good but not nearly as bright. Solid work overall but the aroma in particular.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, light dank notes, light cereals, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, cereals, light oxydation, OK. On tap at Lupulus.
