On tap at la Drive, pours black with a small beige head. Nose brings out light cocoa, hazelnut and lactose — but fairly subdued. Flavour is medium sweet, with lactose, subdued hazelnuts and cocoa. The palate is surprisingly light for the style, almost lending a slight tartness to it. The adjuncts are there but aren't as powerful as I'd wish, and the base beer seems too timid. Pleasant but needs much more sturdiness.
A deep dark stout with a very thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light cherry, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, vanilla, alcohol warmth, light cherry, light lactic notes, very nice. On tap at brewery.
