A clear reddish brown ale with a thin lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light coffee notes, herbal hops, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice mix of coffee and caramel malt, cereals, pleasant and smooth.

Enjoyed on tap with nitro and chocolate shavings this week when it came out. Now, having from the bottle. Pours a hazy, deep amber colour with light beige frothy head, good retention and some patchy lacing. Chocolate malt nose with coffee hints. The taste was sweeter on tap with the real chocolate. Here, it is showing some strong bitterness in the finish, for a brown ale. Still, some mild sweetness, nuttiness and the coffee is even milder. Enough going on to keep it interesting. Nice to have a local coffee used as well - fresh from a block away.
