Yes, we did equate a beer with a dancing chicken in an Elvis costume. After tasting the five different hops in this west coast-style IPA, you'll be dancing too.

bottle - Pours a hazy copper color and smells of piney and fruity hops, maybe some tropical fruits... flavor is aggressively bitter with resin and citrus hop character and the malt in the background. Medium bodied. Quite nice.

Clear amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Stringy lacing. Citrus, hops and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of tropical fruit, piney hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft: Clear gold with a small white head. Pine, orange-peel aroma. Fruity, caramel malt, and grapefruit-peel taste. Not bad......an almost Imperial-level body to it.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is fairly malty with some cracker malt notes, toasted bread and caramel. Moderately strong hop notes with grapefruit, pine resin, woodsy and dank. Some light oxidation. Pours a murky copper brown with a medium high, moderately thick, slightly off white head that exhibits decent retention as it recedes to the edges. Moderately high lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with some toasted bread and crackers with some lighter caramel notes. Medium high bitterness. Medium hop notes of wood, pine, resin, grass and lighter citrus notes. A hint of alcohol spice. Fairly woody. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty disappointing IPA. Bland, woodsy and grassy hops. Too malty. Slightly oxidized.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed prior to watching game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals...hoping for a winner! Appearance is a cloudy gold with a rich and frothy white head. Aroma is a nice citrus, light pine, well done. Taste is bitter with a light grapefruit sourness in the back end, unique and I’m a fan of it. Good IPA!

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/30/2015. Pours lightly hazy bright orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big mango, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big mango, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of mango, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, pine, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering

From the March 2014 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a large foamy orange-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was pine, grapefruit, lemon and perfume. The flavor was bitter and sour grapefruit, lemon, a bit of pine and perfume. Long bitter grapefruit, lemon and perfume finish. Medium body. Ok.

Draft @ Three Fires. Sweet syrupy butterscotch aroma. Cloudy orange with a moderate off-white head. Sweet caramel malt, orange, and herbal hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. I was a little worried at the heavy diacetyl indication in the aroma, but fortunately the flavor was ok. And it wasn’t just me, all of my dining companions could smell it too.
