Bottle. Terrible. This is really a not very good beer. Watery, weak and full of pine.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Trader Joe's. Appearance is cloudy (fine white particulates) orange with decent sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with poor retention and light soapy lacing. Aroma is cardboard, musty, yeast. Taste is cardboard, leaves, muted fruit. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft-to-average carbonation and dry finish as taste. Overall, there was no born-on or best-by date on this but I have to figure this was elderly. Little-to-no hop presence, uninteresting and not pleasant.

Light copper coloured body with a smallish, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of rather grassy and piney hops with a touch of malt and some noticeable sugars as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Grassy and more herbal hops show at first, but give way immediately to a sweet, cardboardie malt note with a touch of pungent bitterness and funky sweet notes more from fake sugars and caster sugar than anything else, with a decent enough balance. Aftertaste shows some grass, funk, cardboard, off-flavours and a hint of hop bitterness, still. Overall, a pretty uninspired beer with a touch of hop bitterness, some smoother malt notes, not much sweetness or complexity, but goes down quite easily - no real reason to go out of your way to find or try this one. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Trader Joe’s in [Old Town] Alexandria, Virginia on 18-June-2017 for US$1,34 with my two girls, drank while walking the streets in Alexandria on 18-June-2017, Father’s Day.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with an orange hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of grains and straw with light grass and pine underlying. Flavor is similar with lots of straw and grains backed by some earthy grass.

12 ounce bottle from Trader Joe’s Brookfield, 12/5/16. Hazy amber, large foamy tan head, decent retention. Aroma of piney hops, toasted malt, lemon peel. The taste is toasted malt, caramel, sawdust, piney and lemony hops. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness. Decent.

Pours a copper from a bottle with a pillowy head, lots of lacing. Citrusy aroma, very light biscuit flavor with a bit of pine and citrus. Very watery and medicinally bitter. Meh.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Davis, CA. Pours copper with a beige head. Aroma is moderate resin. Some slightly roasty malt beneath. Med body. Flavor is resin/fruit - might be some citrus. It’s just a bit malty, but reasonably dry and nicely bitter. Somewhat old school IPA.
