Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is spicy - bringing cinnamon readily to mind. Think I’m detecting brandy. Med + body - arguably. Flavor begins strongly cinnamon. Other spices as well. Dark treacle nearly obscured by spices. Brandy has to wait for spices to wash away. Getting hints of rum. Definite wood in the finish. Takes a big mouthful to really get the B&R. Gets a bit of earth after a long, long time. Excessive spice IMHO.

At GABF 2015. It is a sour stout, I didn’t expect that. Unusual. cheesecake and cream cheese, cherry, moderately roasted and lightly sour. It is solid, fairly thick palate and white foam on top of the black beer.
