Deep violet-crimson with low clarity and a pink-flecked beige head atop showing moderate retention.
Tart berries in the nose mix with lactic acid and strong minerality. Some earthiness, black pepper and even a bit of woodiness from the berries. No alcohol or flaw.
Lightly sweet, with a big tartness and blueberry juice flavor. Strong wheat texture with high attenuation, but not bone dry. The blueberry juice character isn’t overly sweet and the dry wheat notes help balance it. Mostly engaging, moderate carbonation keeps things fairly crisp and if we haven’t quite reached Blu Bu Weisse levels, it’s still very respectably-done.
