Draught at the brewery, 7/1/16.
Hazy amber with a ruddy, auburn tint to it and a beige head that shows low retention.
Very herbal/floral but as it’s got wild yeast and such in it, you get a lactic/acetic quality as well that gives it a very acidic, "sour" nose. Don’t know a thing about ground ivy and beech tree leaves but they seem to add vegetal qualities, light earth and wood. Some medicinal (in a good way, at least for me) qualities from the sarsparilla root, with just a hint of caramel on the back-end to gently balance. No alcohol or flaw.
Tart, growing lightly sour and medicinal through the middle with bitter, plant-like and vegetal qualities. Plenty of lacto-acetic character with light caramel and honey notes from the malt. Floral characteristics lingering. All over the place and wacky but rather intriguing.
