Draught at the brewery, 6/4/16.
Ruby red colored body has an amber tint to it. High clarity and an off-white head atop with moderately strong retention.
A vastly better-executed rendition than their hefe, this one hits the style in stride with appropriate nuttiness, moderate toasted qualities and a rich honey-cream like maltiness creating a soft, frinkable texture. Light esters in the nose combine with fruity and spicy hops. Low bitterness overall but doesn’t come off as a malt bomb. Moderate, engaging carbonation and lots of minetality (lightly bland) with some of the "grassiness" that seems to also be part of the house character.
