Draught at the brewery, 5/14/16.
Rich amber-golden with a high clarity and strong white head.
Fruity esters show apple, peach, banana and there’s a fair amount of clove and white pepper. Has some elements of a trippel, a witbier and a BPA but the hops are quite low (which is fine) adding just some dried herb and further pepper. Whatever the commercial description the website says, this was not a Single hop APA, but very clearly described as a Belgian pale.
Ample, fairly engaging carbonation with a moderately malty texture and good attenuation leaving light honey and bread lingering. Spicy phenols are prominent, with yellow fruit esters, as well. No alcohol or flaw. Very plain, by-the-books American brewpub/brewery BPA, but it’s fine.
