Draught at the brewery, 5/4/16.
Deep amber with good clarity and a beige head atop that shows moderate to strong retention.
Light citrus and yellow fruits in the nose from the hops which are just slightly outpaced by the fruity notes from both yeast and specialty malt. Caramel and light pepper notes linger with no alcohol or flaw.
Lots of red fruit-like character mixing with caramel and toffee from the malts as a bit of grapefruit and orange rind show off a C-hop like character with moderate bitterness. There’s ample caramel malt sweetness and texture to balance and it’s fine as a malty and lightly hoppy strong amber ale. Great carbonation level and very engaging. No alcohol or flaw.

Draft at Earth Eagle, dark amber color with lasting head. Nose is caramel, chocolate and yeast. Flavor is a mirror image of the aroma with hints of roasted barley. Medium in body with traces of hops to help balance the sweetness. I enjoyed this, true to the style and the ABV is nowhere to be found. The batch I consumed was 7.4 %
