Our take on the Belgian Grisette style. Brewed with raw Buckwheat and Malted Red Winter Wheat from our friends at Valley Malt. It is straw yellow, with a nice round mouthfeel but finishes bright and dry. The nose is slightly spicy, with notes of earth and lemon.

Pours a hazy amber from a can. Big citrus, pancake and honey aroma and flavor, rather sweet. Pretty good beer.

Can pour from Candia Road Convenience. It's a pale yellow with no sparkle, thin cap of off-white head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is mild fruity esters, wheat, pepper. Taste follows aroma with wheat, fruity esters, pepper. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, decent strength and complexity of aroma and flavors.

16 oz. can supplied by tfontana, Thanks Tom. Plenty of yeast in a light body with some lingering black pepper notes. Wheat character with a effervescent mouth feel. Pretty much what you would expect.

Can from Craft Beer Cellar Belmont. Pours a lightly hazy electric yellow with a decent sized long lasting frothy white head. Earthy peppery clove on the nose with a bit of bready and cereal maltiness. Flavor follows nicely. This is a pretty nice farmhouse ale.

Draught at Lord Hobo, 3/22/16.
Mostly clear, bronze-flax with an off-white head that shows moderately strong retention.
Very soft, fruity, biscuity and such in the nose. Herbal hops, minerals and very light acidity all present an elegant, definitely Belgian nose. Honey and light caramel creep up with warming, somewhat tipping the scales to the malt side (or maybe it’s just all of this wheat and buckwheat). No flaws or alcohol.
In the mouth it’s very, very supple, chewy and tightly carbonated, but some caramel and honey sweetness perhaps adds too much maltiness. Pepper, bread dough, and herbs certainly do their best to balance on the finish, and are mostly successful. Comes off as more of a light Belgian amber/Belgian golden, but very enjoyable in a non-stylistic sense.
