Draught at Bukowski’s Inman, 3/4/16.
Softly hazy, copper-straw with a rapidly dissipating white head.
Not a lot going on in the nose. Just a bare brush of lactic acid and mineral water, with light salt and bits of floral character. Nectarine and lemon rind with warming. No alcohol or flaws.
Soft floral notes combine with strong honey flavors and quite a bit of sweetness, at least for a gose. It’s not a sweet beer, by any means, but it’s much, much less tart than most goses. Salt and citrus characteristics are quite enjoyable and make up, somewhat, for the lack of tartness, but the carbonation is very low and not overly tight. It causes the honey to really show strongly. No alcohol or flaws. Maybe pass on adding honey to a gose....
