Bottle drunk Summer 2015.
Large, light beige head tops a nicely bright chestnut-amber body with ample carbonation.
Toasted oak, very light spicy rum hints and a strong, wood character reminiscent of many of Jackie O’s stouts. Sweetness is certainly held in check, while light vanilla, plentiful fruitiness and mild alcoholic suggestions. Caramel/toffee emerges with warming, but the wood/oak/spice prevent it from ever becoming overbearing.
Drier in the flavor, but not tannic or overly woody. Sourdough bread and toffee with a touch of stickiness, but ample, tight carbonation aiding drinkability. Soft rum suggestions are barely noticeable and give way to fruitiness and moderately toasted characteristics on the finish.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Tan head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Thick with hot caramel, vanilla and roasted nuts upfront turning to mild oak in the lasting finish.
