Draught at the brewery, 2/13/16.
Lightly to moderately hazy golden-bronze, though not the NE IPA appearance. Moderate-sized white head slowly fades to cover/ring.
Orange rind, red grapefruit and dry pineapple in the nose show quite a bit of azacca, though I have no idea about this new Idaho 7 hop. I’ve enjoyed Vic Secret hops and here they help add more levity and juicy tropical fruits to balance the stronger, tangier citrus of the azacca. Malts show biscuit and very light bread in the background with no alcohol or flaw.
Bitter up front, not terribly so, yet nor is it a soft, all-aroma variety juice bomb. Some biscuit and breadiness builds up on the palate, as well as orange and lemon, leading to a pineapple finish with very light pine and earth (dank, I suppose). Sweetness is minimal, as it’s quite well-attenuated. Texture shows a bit of grainy/chaff-like malt but the carbonation is on-point. Fine/good, but having just had a big glass of the Morph a few beers before this, it doesn’t compare favorably to that at all.
