Draught at the brewery, 2/13/16.
Dark ebony body has just a touch of milk chocolatey tones on the edges. Dark tan head shows moderate retention.
Burnt toffee, espresso, treacle and light prunes in the nose all show quite a deep, dark, intense character. No alcohol or flaw and seemingly no sweetness whatsoever.
Flavor is intensely dark and full of tar and treacle, with light tobacco notes as well. Burnt toffee and just a pinch of sweetness through the middle, with coffee and prunes on the end. Very interesting and different, but borderline overdoing it on the tar/treacle-like character. Meanwhile the texture is sticky-to-oily with moderately tight, ample carbonation.
