Can. Pours a near clear light red with a thin white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has tart raspberry with a bit of oak and a light sweetness underlying. Flavor has sour raspberry throughout with a hint of sweetness and oak backing.

EBF, 2/5/16.
Good clarity in this very lightly rose-tinted bronze-golden beer. Light carbonation visible creating a white head that is small and shows low retention.
Very jammy, somewhat bright raspberry in the nose also divulges honey, floral character, black pepper and light vanilla. Smells pretty standard for a barreled American wild ale, though as with Plattelander, I’m not in love with the local yeast character. Though it’s nowhere near as cidery here, it’s still quite indelicate and lightly vegetal.
Raspberry notes are authentic, lightly tart and well-done with a very light, heavily/overly-attenuated feel to the beer, despite some light honey-like sweetness. Light oak tannin and a touch of toasted character but otherwise light on the actual barrel. Tart brett and light acetic character mixing with malic acid from the raspberries. Eh, it’s fine. A lot better than the Plattelander bottle I had, but other than the raspberries that are done well here, the yeast isn’t particularly enjoyable, nor is the texture/carbonation soft/malty enough.
