Draught at the brewery, 2/12/17.
Quite hazy, though not soupy, with beeswax yellow, brass and light amber highlights throughout. White head atop is small to medium and shows moderate retention.
Fruit juice in the nose is done very nicely with mango, kiwi and key lime all adding both juice and zesty acidity for balance. White bread and honey in the background mix with just a touch of graininess and light caramel. No alcohol or flaw and only a touch of light resin from the hops.
In the mouth it’s soft, malty and well-attenuated with juiciness in the form of mango, kiwi and pineapple. Light pine and grapefruit sit on the finish adding just a touch more sharpness and strength but it’s still mostly a spot-on NE IPA rendition. Carbonation could be a bit finer/creamier to really give that extra softness that the best of the best in this "category" give, but it’s still delicious and well-done. No messy yeast, dough, aspirin or any of that.
