Draught at the brewery (DCB), 2/4/17.
Dark chocolate-colored body shows high clarity on the edges and darker mahogany and ebony hues. Tan head atop is small and shows moderate to low retention.
Cocoa, milk chocolate, soft vanilla and a touch of caramel all give a fair impression of a cocoa-laden porter, though the roast aspect is very light here, which seems intentional. Some lightly "sourish", grainy notes maybe indicate the barrel tannin or light bourbon character, but it’s grasping at straws on that one. Otherwise, fairly clean, no alcohol noted.
In the mouth it’s quite dry, somewhat thin, though there’s a touch of soft, voluptuous chocolate and caramel malt to give some semblance of malt body. Otherwise, rather bready, lightly roasty with loose carbonation and a clean, chocolate/cocoa-like finish.

[2/4/17] Draught at Dorchester Brewing Company in Dorchester. Dark brown. Chocolate, some roast, nuts, caramel, sweet, medium-bodied. A bit too sweet, but decent.
