Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a honey amber color with a huge foamy orange-white head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was bitter and dryish with pepper, yeast and cactus. The flavor was bitter and tangy with notes of white wine, yeast and was dryish and a bit off. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Meh

Tap industry public. Cloudy pale. Friendly mild nose. First taste is slight inner tube. Has a little bit of that green grapefruit bitter rind thing in there as well. Yes, rubbery is the word. Becomes a little difficult near the end. Typical IPA, with a long bitter finish, whew.

Bottled September 25th.
Pours a cloudy orange, 2 finger head of foam.
Smells dank, with a mix of pine and tropical fruit. Some vegetal scents.
Tastes dank as hell. Piney, grassy, cracker malt, leans towards the bitter side.
Earthy as heck as well. Very good.

Bottle, undated, from Box O Hops 12 pack, drunk 11/18/16.
Fiery orange-golden body does show haze and a moderate-sized, off-white head.
Various citrus, vanilla and honey, with raw pine and alcohol coming quickly on the finish. Dough, nuttiness and light caramel malts with a strong bready character. Could not tell there were Nelson hops in here, even despite the obvious allusions in the commercial description. Mostly malt.
In the flavor it’s tired, bland, moderately bitter and resinous with alcohol on the finish and a fizzy, hard carbonation and dry, scratchy, grainy texture. If this truly is unfiltered, I really couldn’t tell.

This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a murky burnt orange color with a sly finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated immediately. Messy clingy lace.
The aroma had some sweet to bitter grassy hops flowing over orange juice like sweet pulpiness. Nice level of crisp juicy toffee malts play with the balance of it all.
The flavor leans sweet initially through the blend of the malts with the hops but develops some edgy bitterness as it warms. Semi-malty smooth sweet to light bitter hops lead in the aftertaste with a quick sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Low carbonation hits appropriately. Bitterness seems to hit appropriately in the harshness level in this beer.
Overall, nicely done AIPA by Ithaca, definitely worthy of having again.
