Draught at The Archives, 3/23/18.
Dark ebony, undetermined clarity with a medium-tan head atop, small, quickly receding to cover/ring.
Fudgey, dessert-like vanilla and fruity roast open the nose. It's sweet and malty with light peanut butter-like notes, but yet the restraint on the abv and thus malt does prevent it from getting unbalanced or sugary. Dark chocolate, light prune and raisin-like acidity helps balance, as well and there is no flaw or alcohol noted.
Soft and chocolatey in the mouth with light vanilla-banana and balancing, bitter roast. Hints of caramel and light peanut-like character continue on as the beer dries out and finds more (somewhat strange) bitterness. Comes off dry and drinkable, which is surprising, with lots of roast and dark chocolate emerging over time. Carbonation is very low but mostly engaging.

12 oz. snifter at The Archives, Burlington, VT. Black appearance. Aroma is slight peanuts, moderate chocolate, and light roast. Flavor shows Subtle nut butter with chocolate and a hint of sweet sugar and the finish. Body is good for a porter (almost stout like). Nice creamy mouthfeel. Yeah, they really pulled off the chocolate and peanut butter combination. Very tasty!
