Draught at Ginger Man, 11/9/17.
Deep brass with copper hues, good clarity and a small, off-white head atop showing low retention.
Enjoyable, true saison notes in the nose of apple, lemon, honey and white pepper immediately grab my attention. As it warms and breathes, however, it does seem to get rather hoppy, adding lots of lemon, nectarine and sadly, grapefruit-pine. Too bad they didn't leave the Motueka out....
Almost sour in the mouth from an astringency that seems to be mostly hop-derived, but perhaps augmented by phenolics. Thankfully a lovely malt texture and good attenuation saves the day. Yellow apple, nectarine and huge white pepper on the finish. Again, while it's got some really wonderful, authentic saison qualities, the Mosaic hops begin to prove too much after just a sampler. This would easily get fatiguing given a full pour, which is a shame.

Sample at the brewpub. Slightly hazy yellow-orange color with a medium white head that diminishes quickly to a wispy film. Partial sheets of lace. Aroma of yeast, fruit, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of fruity yeast, malt and mild floral hops. The finish is fruity with a yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

12 oz. Pint served at the source. Hazy golden / straw color with lasting white head. Aroma is light grass, yeast and traces of herbal hops.
The yeast is support by the two different hop varieties. Herbal and grassy hops give a medium bitterness with a dry texture. A very hop forward saison.

LSAT Freedom Trip #146. Keg at the brewpub. Hazy orange, thin fizzy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of lime zest, tropical fruit, pale malt, mild pepper. The taste is bready malt, lime, yeast, pepper, sweet finish. Medium bodied, lingering spice.

Sample from the Granite State Brewers Festival 7/25/15 Earthy spicy bready a little funky with plenty of citrus fruit to keep it complex. Nice Farmhouse ale.
