Dark ebony, undetermined clarity, with a medium-sized, tan head showing good retention.
Bourbon is front-and-center, though I wouldn't call it overdone. Spicy, rich, poignant and yet not too heavy on the toasted coconut/pineapple aspect, thankfully. Lots of dark chocolate, caramel and vanilla behind it, with lingering dark fruit, alcohol/ester and spicy bourbon notes.
Rich, thick and yet well-attenuated as all their beers tend to be. Choco-vanilla is strong and drying through the middle with big bursts of oak and spicy bourbon. Good balance achieved with sweet caramel and milk chocolate. Very nice and not too boozy (though of course, there certainly is some warming and light alcohol on the finish).
