Reviewed from notes.
Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown with light dark red hues along the sides and more of black color in the center with a two finger eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: roasted dark malts, black coffee-like, dark chocolate, subtle dark fruits and some earthiness
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to bitter to roasty quality; finishes semi-roasty and toasty with a light dryness
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; good smoothness, light roastiness nicks the tongue ever so slightly - nothing offensive
Overall: a nicely done porter that seemed to lean towards an English style of a porter.

Tap at the source. Dark brown with faint ruby at the edges and a creamy off white head that persists. Earthy light roast and chocolate with hints of bread and light pitted fruits. Pretty stand up Porter.

Draught at the brewery, 7/30/17.
Ebony with cola edges and good clarity. Light-tan head atop shows moderate retention.
Soft chocolate and vanilla in the nose announce somewhat meek aromatics with only light roast tapering off on the finish. Hops are low to non existent here. Clean with fresh yeast and no alcohol noted.
Lightly sticky chocolate-like character is formed with the roast and light caramel malt. A touch on the thin side, but the flavors are clear and true, with ample carbonation and good enough acidity from the roast.

Taster pour at Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival. Appearance is very dark brown with tiny ring of beige head, mild lacing. Aroma is weak toasted malts, hints of fruit. Taste is mild toasted/roasted, maybe a little fruity. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, soft-to-average carbonation, with dry, bitter over sweet finish. Overall, this was a little thin all around--aroma, taste and palate.

Draft at New England’s Tap House Grille. Dark brown color, deep ruby highlights. Thin lasting white head. Aroma is roasted barley, coffee hints and maybe yeast.

The flavor, caramel, cocoa, some mild bitter coffee in the finish. Surprisingly thin bodied. Yet pretty much what it should be overall.
