Draught at the brewery, 6/23/17.
Lightly-to-moderately hazy, straw-golden with light brass tints. White head atop is small and recedes to cover/ring steadily.
Mandarina work hand-in-hand with the lactic acid to provide a very fruity, tart aroma highlighted by tangerine and meyer lemon. Wheat and malt add only sparse cracker and very light cereal while more citrus rind and light yogurt dominate the finish. No alcohol or flaw.
Quite tart, bordering on sour, with lightly juicy accents from the lactic acidity and a mild hop bitterness that provides much more fruit character instead. Unripe tangerine, lemon peel and a very heavy floral and spice bouquet linger on the finish, with light to moderate bitterness and an interesting/enjoyable grainy character. Very dry, though with enough wheat softness to allay any potential astringency or huskiness. Pretty straightforward kettle sour, but very competently done, as always, by CBC.
