Draught at Picco, 5/30/17.
Light brass-copper, good clarity and a white head atop showing modest retention.
Very fruity with some light juiciness, pineapple and cherry. Medium malts lend caramel but it’s not overly bready or malt-dominated, thankfully. I definitely respect Rising Tide’s failure to buy in to hype and while this IPA has aspects of a NE IPA, it incorporates the malt elements of the old East Coast IPA, while still having a bit more West Coast citrus hop elements.
Fairly soft texture, malty, dry, and with some specialty malt "hardness". Very fruity, with caramel, bread, orange, cherry and light pineapple juice. Sweetness develops with warming, but it doesn’t get out of control. Carbonation is medium, fairly engaging. I could do with a little less fruitiness and malt character, but that’s just my preference; this is still a well-done IPA.

Pours hazy gold into a snifter. Bright white soapy head with good retention recedes leaving gloppy lacing. Lemon joy, mint and weed aromas. Crisp with summer berries, lemon joy and mango front to back. Dry, lasting pith and bitter earth finish.
