Bottle shared by Chris and Stacey on 12/8/18.
Dark ebony with a tan head fading slowly to cover. Good clarity.
Cherry-vanilla-almond notes in the nose are very dry with light roast and hints of alcohol. Licorice and spice mix with more vanilla and coffee but it's incredibly dry.
In the mouth it's extremely dry with seemingly full attenuation leaving zero sweetness behind. Pretty decently malty texture with tight carbonation but between the cognac barrel, wood character, alcohol and almost sharp vanilla-roast combo, it's just too fatiguingly unbalanced for my palate, at least. Just a hint of sweetness would go a long way here.
