A chill hazed to slightly sedimented pour showing a peachy-copper color with deeper ambers and an off-white head that fades steadily to nothing.
In the nose you get a quick shot of caramel/toffee before everything is overtaken by hazelnuts. Spicy, nutty and with light roast character. Seemingly quite dry and with light alcohol lingering.
Mega-hazelnut in the mouth. Yikes. That's ALOT of hazelnut. Dominates the beer which otherwise shows high attenuation and low carbonation. Light caramel and toffee-like sweetness is all I can gather, with a good fruitiness, but it's difficult to find much here aside from hazelnut. Soft, malty texture and light alcohol warmth on the finish.

22 oz. bottle. Flat dirty muddy water appearance. Aroma is hazelnut and raisins. Flavor has a mild lasting hint of hazelnuts with a mild dark fruits. Oily mouth.

22oz bomber pours with a murky brown to copper body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet smooth boozy rye whiskey, boozy vanilla, a flash of oak and then a mild nuttiness. The taste delivers smooth soft sweet vanilla and molasses nuanced boozy whiskey and faint boozy oak. To midway a mild nuttiness is noticed. This is really barrel forward as I'm getting very little beer flavors in this beer. The lack of balance is disappointing. Did this beer start as a brown ale or a porter? No way to know. This would rate much lower but the over the top barrel character was supple and smooth. So there's that.
