In 2016 the Sheppy family celebrated 200 years and six generations of craft cider-making, and this special edition bicentennial blend was created to mark the occasion. With the use of home-grown traditional cider apple varieties, it embodies the family’s stewardship of their farm’s old orchards over the last century, and marks a moment to be celebrated as the family tradition continues into the future.
Sheppy's 200 Special Edition Cider is full-flavoured, with some traditional tannin undertones.

Bottle from Waitrose. Golden in colour, with a thin, white, head. PLenty of medium dry apple character, a hint of the farmyard and a moderately tart finish. Good.

Vintage 2016. Many Thanks for this traditional Cider to Jacek Wigier (wineofdreams@gmail.com). elegancka etykieta, cydr bez piany, barwa jasno morelowa, w aromacie wyraznie dojrzale lub przedojrzale jablka. W smaku sok jablkowy, kwaskowy, wyraznie wytrawny malo slodki, bardzo tradycyjny i trafiajacy w moj gusy Cydr z Somerset.

On tap at South Street in Exeter. Pours a clear gold, white head, some fizzy. Nose is... you know... apple, crisp and juicy, no sign of tartness. Flavor is a bit more balanced, has the juice and skin and a little green apple. This is clear ripe sugar apple and none of the tart crabby stuff. Finishes just off dry. Goes well with a meal.

Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Golden with a decent apple aroma, and a very pleasantly sweetened quality apple taste. It's slightly tangy and very nice drinking.

From tap at Bootleggers, Copenhagen, 05.08.18. Clear golden. No head. Aroma and taste of fresh red apples, with hints of sulphur and leather. Well made and refreshing, but not that interesting.

500ml bottle sample @ Stable Cider Awards 2018, Birmingham. Pours a generally clear gold, small white head, aroma is lightly sweet, almost desert-like apple fruit. Clean on the palate with sweet, green apple fruit. Quite a decent medium blend but nothing necessarily jumping out to mark it out from much of Sheppts range.
