Chapter One is our first foray into the world of fruited IPAs. Juicy, hoppy, and exceptionally hazy, this ale balances the best of the New England-style IPA tradition with a unique twist. Its creamy body quenches and drenches the palate with tropical flavor; Galaxy hops enrich aromas of musky passionfruit while Chinook’s pithy bite complements the sweetness of fresh pineapple. Like the beginning of any great adventure, Chapter One bridges the exotic with the familiar.

Fresh can drunk 11/2/18.
Heavily hazy-to-not-quite-soupy, lemon-banana-skin-yellow with a small, white head showing moderate-to-low retention.
Pineapple is quite forward in the nose, but it's not a definitive actual pineapple fruit note and the integration between hop, ester and fruit seems quite good here. Light pine, white wine, nectarine and some spicy Galaxy character mixes with cracker, biscuit and strong, fruity yeast as bubble gum surges forth, as well. A bit of resin/sharp ester, but I think that's just the extreme youth of the can (was canned a few days prior).
In the mouth it's soft, well-attenuated and very fruit-filled, from hop, yeast and actual fruit. Tons of ester and lots of bubble gum, with light white wine and spice from the Galaxy and a good amount of juice from the pineapple. Again, some sharpness occurs on the end, a bit of green resin from how fresh the beer is. But it's juicy and mega-fruity with mostly engaging, low-to-moderate carbonation and no flaw. Quite nice, this should be even better in a week or so.
