Deep, brass-copper. Moderate haze and a beige head that sits at cover.
Passion fruit, lime and light spiciness lead to fruity, strawberry and chardonnay notes. Honey comes on quickly, followed by caramel, and it suddenly finds itself very malty. Probably too much so. No alcohol or resin but pretty mediocre hop character in the nose. Quite vague.
In the mouth it's immediately boozy and bitter with twangy pine and apricot notes leading to caramel and prune? Softens a bit, thankfully, as it warms but never really gets particularly interesting. Just too much bare pine and heavy bitterness and the odd caramel character that never goes away. Dry, though and low but engaging carbonation. Sharp ester and resin appears retronasally.
