Draught at the brewery, 7/8/18.
Light golden with deeper maize hues. Small, white head sits at cover. Clear.
Grainy biscuit with soft cornflower, light vanilla and peppery herbs. Not too rich and overly malty, as I'd expect from a 7% maibock, but more Helles-like.
Great herbal bitterness in the mouth with a strong dryness from a very high attenuation. Good and drinkable, but slightly grainy and just not malty enough for the style, or at least for 7% abv if nothing else. Finishes with light corn, honey and vanilla and soft, floral hops. Clean, low but engaging carbonation and no alcohol noted.
