Dark brown-mahogany. Probably clear? Can't tell. Well-retained, light tan head atop.
Nose is richly salty mineral, light coffee and hints of anise with long and dry, dark chocolate lingering. Soft and even for a stout with no punchy roast. No alcohol or flaw, moderate fruitiness.
Soft, dry, malty with light caramel and dark chocolate in the mouth. Very light hints of salted char deepen complexity. Fruity coffee-like roast and lots of dark chocolate through the middle with hints of raisin and vanilla. Quite a bit going on here for its size. Highly flavorful, balanced and clean with a good attenuation, engaging carbonation and no alcohol or flaw. Wonderful stout, as always. They really can do no wrong with dark beers.
