8.1
Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8.5

Draught at the brewery, 5/27/18.
Clear, brass-golden. White head fades to light cover.
Lemon, wood, lemon balm and light spice leading to light peachy-apricot, very soft and lightly vegetal. Light honey mixes in from the malt and more spiciness emerges giving an almost Darjeeling-like character. Very much on par for this hop.
In the mouth it's full of tea-like spice and tons of orange and lemon. Woody yet soft and malty with high attenuation. Solid base malt sweetness at times, with engaging carbonation, no resin, alcohol or flaw. Nothing flashy or overly rich/intense, but just solid, well-brewed and balanced, as is the norm from EEB.

4 oz. taster at the source. Cloudy orange / golden appearance. Aroma is subtle citrus, weak yeast, and pine. Taste of orange, light pine, white bread base. The sweet malts give a balance to the hop. Mild lingering herbal bitterness. Overall, simple pale ale, easy drinking. Could consume a larger amount if that was the goal.

Draft pour at the brewery. Aroma is citrus with what seems like a little Belgian yeasty twist. Appearance is cloudy yellowish green with small white head with poor retention, no sparkle, trace lacing. Taste is as aroma--strongly bitter which makes it seem a bit more like an IPA, and then a Belgian influence. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with average texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a nice offering that drifts between genres.
