Draught at the brewery, 5/26/18.
Lightly-to-moderately hazy, bright, rose-tinted lemon. Sizable white head fades slowly to cover.
Bright lemon juice in the nose is followed by a light buttercream-like softness that doesn't work terribly well, in my opinion, but seems to be appropriate for a lactose IPA. Pretty straightforward and, like the Kiwi drinking kiwi, there aren't all that many hop notes to be found, though this does have more than that one. Pine, lemon, orange and light melon with soft honey and biscuit behind it. Little/no resin, no alcohol and just a pinch of sharpness.
Juicy and sweet in the mouth both from malt, lactose and hop character. Gaining some acidity via pine and citric acid, though thinning somewhat on the finish and reminding a bit too much of a shandy...Fine, again, like the kiwi, but just really, really low on any IPA character. More of a fruit beer with lactose.
