Canned 4/2, drunk 5/12/18.
Dark amber with a light haze. Beige head is rocky, large and recedes slowly to cover.
Smells a lot like 2006 IPA scene. Crystal malts with caramel, various brown breads and sourdough. Spicy, cascade-heavy orange rind. Strawberry and apple-like esters with a pinch of alcohol.
Dry and yet malty, in the mouth, with sourdough and other heavy specialty malt flavors. Cherry-orange with a weird pine bitterness on the finish. Strippingly astringent as it warms and breathes and builds on the palate. Spicy, bitter, heavy marmalade flavors. Great texture and attenuation but come on...I thought the world has moved on from these types of IPAs and for good reason.
