Bird of Passage is our Munich Dunkel conditioned in oak for an extended period of time. Pouring an inviting dark brown color in the glass with a wispy head, it carries notes of brown bread, toasted malts, and molten caramel softened by a gentle kiss of oak in the finish. Refined and precisely executed, we hope you enjoy this delightful beverage as much as we do.

Sandwich draught, 6/3/22. Dark molasses, clear. Bronze-hazelnut highlights. Small, beige head showing moderate retention. Robust roast and mineral with toasted biscuit. Clean, strong mineral. Milk chocolate character increasing with warming. Chocolate and roast with some stronger acidity on the end. Well attenuated but still soft. Pretty specialty malt-forward, not to a large fault but more than I'd prefer. Good balance but just a bit crispy/crunchy/crackers/toasty on the finish instead of soft, crisp and mineral-laden. Clean, no booze or flaw.

Pours a dark amber, with rather smallish head. Aroma is roasted grain, bread, some malt. Flavor follows. Mouthfeel is dry and a bit bready.
