A classic British Bitter brewed with Scottish malt, East Kent Goldings hops, and fermented with a classic London brewery ale yeast. An all but forgotten style, and the true expression of British Session beer. Sweetish malt flavor, toffee, fruity aroma, full bodied yet with modest strength. Joe Strummer approved.

Brighton draught, 4/5/22. Burnished copper-to-bright-rust with a firm, white head. Clear. Floral hops are soft and fragrant. Soft cereal maltiness with honey and caramel. Clean and lightly fruity with no alcohol noted. A bit bland and papery in the mouth. Very, very dry and could use more malt depth; just a touch too thin. Softly floral hops and honey-laden cream of wheat finish is clean though a bit carbonic/blandly abrupt.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Dark caramel, toffee and sweet fruity aromas. Dry and thin with caramel upfront turning sharp and watery before the abrupt finish.
