Pouring a viscous, jet black with a mocha-tinged foam cap, a nose highlighted by aromas of roasted peanuts, creamy milk chocolate, and bourbon-soaked oak fill the room. On the palate, the complexity of the base beer shows itself, contributing notes of brown sugar, thick fudge, and drizzled caramel. Remarkably full-bodied, Barrel-Aged Chocolate Covered Peanut Brittle coats the palate in a gentle sweetness, finishing with just enough bitterness to keep us reaching for the next sip.

Little bourbon, chocolate, rich, roasted peanuts. Pretty easy going for what it is. #stoutsunday part two.

Bottle, 500 ml at charity tasting Wien 2022. Shared with Miro B, Werckmeister and others. Black with beige head. Chocolate, cocoa, peanut, quite sweet. Medium to full bodied. Oilyand dense. Warming.

500mL bottled some time mid 2021 (date illegible), drunk 10/17/21. Inky black, tan head tries to form but doesn't. Nice and even bourbon notes mix with milk chocolate and strong vanilla. Very powerful but even and unwavering. No punchiness or hot booze. Getting peanut brittle character on the finish. Very nutty and dry with heavy starch though some alcohol does emerge. Soy, milk chocolate, ultra-soft, lactose and malt-heavy texture with good acidity from tannin and heavy bourbon dryness with floral notes and spicy vanilla. Alcohol definitely loosens the texture but it starts out thick enough that it's very comforting. This is a very composed/collected, well-barrelled beer.
