Distinct notes of dark plum, dates, vanilla spice, caramel, and candied figs rise to the top as subtle hints of bourbon & oak ⁣⁣round off it’s smooth finish⁣⁣.

⁣⁣In this batch we chose to use Vienna malt & age the beer post fermentation in 1792 high rye barrels to bring forward a certain licorice spice character.⁣⁣

Undated can (October), drunk 11/13/22. Clear, dark amber, dark beige head to ring. Big malt nose with plentiful dark fruit. Good molasses and brown sugar character with nice acidity and not overdone on caramel or dark fruit. No alcohol. Rye barrel helps add spice and such, balance and dryness. Soft, malty, with chocolate, vanilla, spicy rye and good, but not overwhelming dark fruit. A bit of alcohol dryness, though it's not hot. Some sticky toffee on the finish. Maybe a bit forceful on the barrel character and alcohol, even despite it not being sharp/hot.

16 oz. can thanks at ClarkVV on the share. Aroma is vanilla, old oak, prune. Flavor has a smooth balanced amount of prune, raisins, oak, vanilla. Base is for sure English based. Good not making my cock hard. Good. Not amazing.

Can pour shared by ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! It's a cloudy dark brown with ring of beige head and no lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, vanilla, dark fruit, bourbon. Taste is strong dark fruit and bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, good strength of aroma and taste. Not terribly complex.

From a pint can. Pours a slightly hazy mahogany with a small tan head. Aromas are toffee and bourbon. Flavors are sweet caramel. Nice.
