Named after New England wildflowers, our Ephemeral Series of easy-drinking and nuanced American Wild Ales is an understated highlight of our wild program. Low in alcohol, balanced acidity, and built for the table, these are beers we like to keep in the fridge, ready to pair with nearly any cuisine, at any time throughout the year.

Presenting a brilliant straw yellow with a billowing white foam cap, Bloodroot is our third entry into the series. Persimmon, jasmine flower tea, lemon zest, and a slight mineral character greet the nose. Finishing dry, with a subtle tannic structure and scrubbing effervescence, Bloodroot is a pleasure to drink.

Draft at Bentley alumni event. Fine golden pour and small head. Nose is earthy and funk. Tastes some funk, earth, light citrus. Almost lambic like.

Undated bottle at Fort Point, 9/5/22. Clear brass-hay-maize. Medium-sized, off-white head steadily to cover. Big nose that you can smell immediately upon pouring. Moderate lactic and Brett acids with, perhaps, a pinch of acetic. Crusty, bready malts and no alcohol or flaw. Get a bit of white flour on the end, is that oxidation? Soft and very relaxed, well-aged. This must be old as the acidity is super soft and there's gentle powdered sugar-like oxidation. But there's good malt depth and attenuation and it's clean and flawless with no alcohol. If there are adjuncts in this, I don't notice them.
