This collaboration with Angry Orchard Cidery features fresh-pressed Baldwin apple juice fermented with a golden ale wort using Norwegian Kviek yeast, and aged in apple brandy barrels from Angry Orchard’s Pommeau program. Aromas of apple Danish, lemongrass, and brandy, with flavors of dried apples, wild berries, and spiced oak.

Taproom draught, 5/26/23. Clear, blonde-lemon-golden. Small, off-white head fades immediately. Nose is funky apple-derived brett with a touch of liquor-like character and grainy oak. Vanilla, lemon, more brett and interesting funky apple notes. Soft, well-macerated/attenuated apple notes. Zero sweetness. Impressed at the dryness here. Lots of malo-lactic character with restrained apple brandy and lots of Brett. As it warms and breathes light buttery oak, quite complementary to the dry, liquor-like spice, emerges very pleasantly.
