Pours a murky, dark brown, with smallish tan head. Aroma is smoke, bread, roasted grain. Flavors follow. Clean, crisp mouthfeel.

Row 34 draught, 3/12/23. Dark, mahogany gany, clear. Small, light beige head, low retention. Quite smokey with wood and pepper, short of bacon. Hints of caramel and raisin with biscuit, vanilla and light mineral. Soft, malty, dry with moderate toast, though not ending bready. Light pepper, red fruit, lots of wood and just enough maltiness to balance while keeping it crisp and drinkable.

Burk från Fox Farm. Klar, kastanjebrun med ljusbeige/smutsvit krona. Rökigt, torv, charkbricka, lägereld. Nötigt, lätt maltig sötma, en lätt chokladig ton, beska. Gott.

From a can. This has the standard dry malt flavors combined with smoke that has a good flavor and aroma but is on the light side for a rauchbier.

Can thanks to Jack! Pours a clear amber brown with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice woody and meaty smoke underlying with some sweet grains supporting. Flavor has a nice smoke throughout with some sweet grains and a hint of bread in the finish.

Thanks G C. I definitely don't hate rauchbier, just aecht schlenkerla I guess, or maybe I just have to try them again too, balanced flavor and not an overly thin body, tasty smoked malt and roast notes, almost a kick but not quite, keeps it smooth.
