This special version of our German Helles is brewed to be heartier using plenty of Munich malts for the winter months. During the boil it is hopped with Triskel , Strisselspalt + Spalt Select. After the boil it rests in our open copper coolship for one {1} hour and is then transferred over our French Baudelot heat exchanger. It undergoes a cool open fermentation for 9 days using a classic German lager yeast.
It is cellared cold for several months prior to packaging.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to mug.
Appearance: copper color with a two finger white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: doughy/biscuity/bready malts with some citrusy hop spice? Yes, I believe that's a citrusy hop spice
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together sweetly and adds in some light dark fruity tone; finishes bready and with the citrusy hop spice
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; clearly smooth along the tongue
Overall: nicely done Helles lager as far as I know but I kinda want to know what the "dark fruit" was I thought I detected in the flavor; just goes to show I need to come back to this beer.

16 oz. can. Clear, orange color. Aroma of white bread, toffee, spice. Flavor has a little bit of spice and caramel with a zesty hop like bite. Malt backbone is all bread. Body is medium plus for the style and somewhat balanced.Good.

One hearty helles here. Just finished working out and this is a proper protein shake. Thick and bready. Deep gold pour but flimsy head. Nose is bread and pear. Tastes of pear, golden raisins, yeast, pizza dough, white wine, touch of strawberry. Smooth and rich palate.

Can drunk 1/13/23. Clear deep bronze-copper. Small, off-white head recedes to edge quickly. Very bready in the nose with soft, drier caramel, vanilla and low, earthy and spicy hop notes. Clean, with light base malt and light mineral, strong yeast. No alcohol noted. I don't know about all this bread though. Kinda pushing the envelope and giving minor bock impressions. Fruity, spicily-hopped and lightly bready, perhaps not as much as the nose would suggest. Biscuity though in the texture, but also soft at most points with good richness and a deep, well-attenuated texture. Some golden raisin and raspberry from the munich malt. Moderate minerality, good balance, tending malty of course. I prefer a lighter version, but that's not what they were going for here and so I can appreciate that.
