Spróng is a blend of wild ales varying from 6 months up to 4 years, with Sicilian sage. This vintage we tried to enhance the herbal qualities of the sage together with a fresh, and vibrant but yet characterful blend of several oak puncheons (500 and 400 liters) and a rustic saison.

The nose reveals herbal aromas of fresh sage, oak, bergamot zest, green jasmine tea, and even a subtle hint of mint. On the palate, the sage is well-integrated and complements the lemony, earthy, and funky notes from the beer. The acidity is balanced and not overpowering, which works well with the Spróng has a clean and refreshing aftertaste that invites another sip.

Bottle pour at MBCC 2025 (Yellow session), pours a cloudy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is dominated by the sage, with some wild bugs underneath, and a touch of oak. Flavour is a sage bomb, backed by wild bugs, and then the sage just takes over again. Cool experiment but this doesn’t work for me.

Tap at BeerGeek. Thin body, light carbo. High sourness, med-light tartness, med-light bitterness, low sweetness.very dry feeling. Honestly I have a hard time distinguishing any of the herbal nuances here. There is shitload of wild barnyard character, horsey, hay, grassy. A hint of zesty citruses maybe. But this is definitely worth the price tag it commands. Now. As I have this written out, I slowly begin to get the bergamot and herbal spiciness. Wtf, the 1 dcl sample was already sitting here for 30 mins to warm up. I needed to get used to it too apparently. Do not have enough to rate properly anymore though. Maybe next time.good one though.

At WInter Affari 2025. I guess it's this one. Hazy golden body. Bretty aroma, berries. Minty, herbal taste, some blueberries. Not my best notes, but I liked it!
