Draught at Lulu’s on 3/27/16.
A lightly hazy, straw-golden body is topped by a small, flimsy white head.
Mosaic hops and souring agents clash slightly in the nose, with pine getting the best of things and there being a rather strong amount of acidity and citrus character. Some light honey and very faint caramel back things, with some wood character that seems a bit dull. Aside from the resinous hop character, I’m getting far less juiciness (little to none, really) than non-US grown mosaics (or maybe it has nothing to do with the country of origin, maybe theyre just older, not used liberally enough late in the whirl). No alcohol or flaws, and nothing here is problematic, it’s just a bit aggressive and yet the payoff is really low (no fun barrel notes, brett character is vastly overshadowed by the pine and citrus, etc...).
Even more pronounced is the dullness of flavor. Basic lime and light band-aid signify plentiful brett acids, but the hops again add too much punchiness, and moderate resin, while giving very little playfulness (juicy mango, pineapple, dry nectarine) in return. Moderate carbonation, fairly engaging, with no alcohol noted nor flaw. Some wood tannin throughout is quite dull. Eh. This brewery is so hit-or-miss! Can’t stand it!

Bottle shared by Jack, thanks! Pours a hazy light yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sour tropical fruit with some sour citrus and a bit of sweet grain. Flavor has juicy sour citrus with some tropical fruit, a slight dankness and a touch of sweet grain.

On tap at The Blackback Pub, Waterbury, VT.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a burnt yellow color with a thin wisp of a white little head. Light messy lacing.
The smell had sweet grass. Grapefruit rind. Earthy funk. Light salt and packing a delicate orange pulp sourness all combining nicely. Reminds me a little bit of a gose.
The taste was pretty much the same thing. Salt comes back at a nice \"gose-like\" level with the same sour to salty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the saltiness to hit my tongue.
Overall, not sure if Almanac was shooting for the gose style but I think that’s what this came out to be. Unless if Blackback didn’t clean the lines. I’d still have again.

Draft 10 Oz pour at the Beer Junction. Cloudy golden yellow pour with a thin oily head. Sour fruit paired with a grassy hop profile aroma. Flavor is grassy hops, and really sour peach like fruit. Citrus too. Bit of an earthy finish. Not as exceptional as others in the series, but dominant to say the least. I guess Mosaic isnt as trendy at the moment.
