Bourbon barrel-aged sour stout with cacao nibs, cherries, and Madagascar vanilla beans

Cordial BBLs is our favorite cherry-filled chocolate treat in beer form. This dark, viscous sour stout is a carefully crafted blend of our Tart of Darkness and Black Tuesday aged on cherries, Madagascar vanilla beans, and TCHO cacao nibs. One sip and you’ll be toasting this gooey, confectionary treat.

Bottle at the DC Beer August Share. Poured an oily rusty brown. Flavor was cherries, brandy, and port with a tart finish balancing residual sweetness. A rich and layered barrel-aged sour with boozy depth.

Bottle from Reserve Society: pours black with beige head. Cherry, chocolate, funky, vinegar. Taste is acidic and fairly sour. Cherry notes are prominent. A bit heavy on the acid with not enough roast to really balance it out nicely.

750ml bottle at the DC Beer share. Oily rusty brown. Leggy. Cherries and brandy and port. Tart finish which helps because there is still some sugar lurking. 6 3 6 3 11
