Crisp, clean and refreshing this authentic IPA will give you a first-hand look and taste of Sorachi Ace Hops, named after the Sorachi Subprefecture in Hokkaido, Japan. Hand crafted using a blend of Sorachi Ace hops and a blend of two-row malt. Enjoy your journey “ichiroheian o inoru.” Malts: Caramel, Two-Row

According to Brewmaster Gabe Hopkins: "Sorachi Ace hops from Japan, a bittering hop perfect for brewing India Pale Ale, are front and center in Point White IPA, which invites you to "ichiroheian o inoru," or "enjoy your journey." Unlike traditional American or British-style IPAs, which are usually copper-colored, Point White IPA shines with a rich golden hue. Our White IPA is a very delicate beer because the Sorachi Ace is a very delicate hop in terms of flavor and aroma, adding apple and pear notes."

Bottle from GBBF 2017 and drunk on a train. Hazy orange gold colour lasting white head. Sorachi hops no doubt. Pineapple coconut pina colada . Wow that packs a punch of sorachi. Almost cheesy. Base beer is a bit fizzy. Ok though. Just about enough malt to carry the heavy hopping. Just about the best beer i have had from these guys.

Almost clear paleish gold beer, thin white head. Palate is light, semi dry and crispy. Thin malts. Good thin creamy sweetness that seems much more Motueka than Sorachi. Mild mango and a little orange peel. Trace of lemon in the light finish which also reveals a spot of mint. Hangs together well. One of their better beers.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear darkish yellow with a finger of frothy white head. Aroma is citrus with a hint of grassy hops. Taste is medium bitter. Resinous with citrus. Medium bodied with a slick yet creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a very long finish. Very good, much better than I was expecting.
