Would I sell my soul for a doughnut? Probably not. But I might just think about it for this caramel custard doughnut milk stout, inspired by everyone's favourite high street bakery treat. Big sweet caramel and custard flavours sing over the top of light bready notes and rich and warming toffee notes from the dark malts. Delicious.

On tap at That Beer Place, Chester. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized foamy tan head and good lacing. The aroma has dough, honey, malts and hints of custard. In the mouth it is decidedly sweet, but with a little underlying sharpness and a creamy texture. Flavour has roasted malts, lactose, custard and dough. Finish is chewy and slightly sweet. This is quite nice.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Reddish Ales, Stockport on 4th September 2024. Almost black, it's a very dark brown, tanned creamy head. Exceedingly sweet from the start with caramel flavours to the fore. Interesting, but a half was enough.

Handpull cask at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Very dark brown and opaque with a tiny ring of beige head. Aroma is milky caramel, chocolate, icing sugar. They nailed it. Sweet taste all the way through, more caramel and a little bit of blackberry. Medium body, flat. Nice.
