Cask at Black Country Arms, Walsall. Pours a golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just hints of floral hops and nuts. In the mouth it fluctuates between bitter and sweet with the bitterness gradually increasing. Flavours of pine, melon and tropical fruit plus traces of citrus, spice and herbs. Finish is quite ibtter and slightly dry. This is a decent pale.

Draft at the Stirchley brewery. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is woody hops. The flavour is over moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, light toffee, metallic, dry, big woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
